SYNOPSIS

In the heart of the Landes region of France, we encounter a tradition where, in a municipal arena, intrepid young villagers confront a herd of cows during a musical celebration in which all the town’s people participate.

SYNOPSIS

This film is a journey into the connections between the work of art and the artist’s native land, childhood, environment and culture. This film questions the roots of creativity in light of an artist’s place of origin. It questions the source of a work of art in light of the artist’s way of seeing. Is there an initial memory matrix imprinted by our place of birth, which orients one’s creativity through the myriad of potential influences encountered during life’s journey?

Our film follows the source path of memory along its return back to the self. Alisi Telengut and Annie Molin Vasseur look deeply into art, life and the artist’s process, revealing to the viewer new ways of seeing. This film contains very little dialog.
